Quality Management

The OMHSAS Quality Strategy was reviewed by the OMHSAS Mental Health Planning Council and was part of the Medical Assistance Quality Strategy for Pennsylvania, subject to the review and approval by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).   Pennsylvania Mental Health Stakeholders will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback concerning the identified quality direction and activities that OMHSAS pursues and documents in future editions of this document.  The next review and update will occur in 2016.

HealthChoices Behavioral Health Performance and Improvement Charts

Performance and Improvement Charts Companion Guide
This is a companion guide to the measurement year (MY) 2014 – MY 2013 Performance and Improvement Charts found below.  The charts are the displays of the performance results for MY 2014 and the improvement from MY 2013 results by the HealthChoices Behavioral Health Contractors and their contracted Behavioral Health Managed Care Organizations.   These reported results are validated as accurate by the Island Peer Review Organization, Pennsylvania’s External Quality Review Organization.  The validation and reporting of performance measure results is a federal quality requirement for any state with a Medicaid Managed Care program.
